QUAY HANDLING CHARGE

Quantity At Captain$s Option

Clause in charterparties. The captain decides on the maximum quantity of cargo in order to safeguard the safety of the ship

Quantity Delivered

Clause that can be used in charterparties specifying that the sea freight is calculated on the basis of the actually delivered quantity of cargo. It is applied to certain bulk, e.g. grain, in case of voyage charters since the loading weight can decrease owing to the cargo becoming dry or being spread during loading/ unloading

Quantity Discount

Rate discount granted if a certain quantity of cargo is reached

Quantity Intaken

Quarantine

Part of the shipping note used as a working paper for quay operations. It is used as a basis for calculating terminal/harbour dues payable by the forwarder

Quay Delivery Application

Document issued for goods delivered to the harbour sheds but are not intended to be shipped. Such goods can be material required for repairs at the terminal
